About Missy

Missy was born and raised in Breathitt Co, Jackson KY and began her singing career at the age of 9, singing the songs of George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty & Tammy Wynette. Missy was raised on Bluegrass music such as Ralph Stanley, Larry Sparks, Dave Evans and the Osborn Bros. Having spent most of her childhood with her grandmother, she enjoyed going to church where she sang and got a healthy introduction to Southern Gospel Hymns. She wrote a song titled "ONE MORE ANGEL" a gospel tune, after losing her grandmother, who she was inspired by so much, the song gets a lot of airplay, it is on the CD "WHAT WOULD IT TAKE".

In April of 2004 she released the single "I GAVE YOU MY HEART". Which she Co-wrote. This song is currently in rotation at several, KY, OHIO, FLORDIA, INDIANA and MICHIGAN radio stations. After almost a year it is still getting request and is a fan favorite. Her current 2 disc CD (WHAT WOULD IT TAKE & COVER THIS) is enjoying very good reviews from everyone who hears it. These reviews and responses from the public have led to several live studio interviews and guest appearances on several radio stations. The response gave her top billing at such events as: "The Breathitt County Relay For Life" in Jackson, KY 2004. Two shows at "The Breathitt County Honey Festival, also in Jackson, KY of 2004, on Labor Day weekend.

While recovering tonsil surgery in October of 2004, she was advised to cancel shows such as appearances at "The Wooly Worm Festival" in Beattyville, KY and opening acts for Conway Twitty's son and Grandson in Jackson, KY of 2004. Interviews include: (4)@WSJN JACKSON KY. (1)@WTCR_FM ASHLAND, KY. (1)@WMMT.WHITESBURG, KY. & (3)@WRLV-FM SALYERSVILLE, KY, on the "Wright's Bluegrass Show", with Hershell and Charlie T. At one of the interviews at WRLV, Missy talked to Country Star Rebecca Lynn Howard, while fans from both singers listened in. Missy would love to add your radio station to her list of interviews. Also she did a interview on WJSN, in Jackson, KY with Hershell Wright & THE TRUE GOSPEL ECHOES, where they were asked to do a commercial for the radio station which is still played often. Shows include: The Sipp Theater in Paintsville, KY, where she was a guest with The True Gospel Echoes in December 2004, and also in February 2005 with The True Gospel Echoes, there she met fans who finally got to meet her and sit in with Don Rigsby during a rehearsal before his performance. She also met and took pictures with some of Loretta Lynn's family. This year of 2005 Missy has also done really well at The Watts Fire Dept. She sang with Bluegrass favorites such as: Billie Renee & Cumberland Gap, Sammy Adkins and The True Gospel Echoes. Missy and The True Gospel Echoes did a benefit show for Shannon Richardson at The Watts Fire Dept. in Jackson, KY The benefit raised $2400.00.

Missy is the type of person who always wants to help someone who is in need. She performed at Jackson, KY's "Heritage Fair" where fans came from all over to see her perform. After the show she was asked to be in the parade to show off the talent in Jackson. She has been on stage a lot lately with The True Gospel Echoes. She has performed this past summer at "Country Music Showdown" in Shepardsville, KY, The Old Mill Park in West Liberty, KY.
