Dave's new CD, "Take Me Back", features 5 original songs that he wrote that have gotten a good deal of airplay across the US as well as Europe and Australia. The CD has received great reviews in the Feb. 2003 Bluegrass Unlimited, and online reviews at www.bluegrassworks.com and www.bluegrass.sk/blueweb.
He has performed with former Bill Monroe banjo picker Tony Ellis, former band members of George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, Sammy Adkins, Junior Blankenship, Byron Berline, David Bromberg, and the True Gospel Echoes` among many others. Dave Cantrell is currently the music director, lead singer and mandolin player at Pigeon Forge Tennessee`s newest dinner theater, "Fiddlers Feast".
Dave is married to his wife Debbie, have one son Jason, and is the son of Butcher Hollers` legendary mountain singer and leg puller Frank Cantrell.
